Example of a Godly Man

Let me tell you an example of a godly man. A godly man is not a perfect man, but a man that strives to live a godly life. Recently we lost a beloved family member; a dad, a Christian and godly example. This man was a great godly man and example to his family and others to see, by the way he lived his life. He raised and taught his children about God and how to honor him. He not only attended church, but studied the Bible thoroughly and memorized scripture. His favorite saying was: We are one day closer to the Rapture.

He loved reading books that were related to the Bible, whether references or scriptures in some way.  He would put a huge checkmark in the front, showing that he read it. He read the Bible all the way through several times. He could quote several scripture,  his memory was good when it came to the scriptures.  He could recall Bible stories easily and names of disciples, the twelve tribes of Israel, and the ten commandments.

He served his country in the Marines in the Vietnam war, and he served in the National Guard. He worked long hours in the factory, always providing for the family even after being disabled because he wanted to leave something for his wife and children.  He was strong willed and determined in fighting to continue to be a great provider and Christian despite the struggle he faced just to get up every morning. He struggled with  a muscle disease but didn’t let it stop him. He tried to do as much stuff for himself as he could. He was a godly man. Loved gospel music, reading and studying his Bible and attending church.

He believed in being a hard worker and showing up on time. A former coworker of his told me that he had the best work ethic. He worked a lot of 16 hour shifts even if he was tired. His dress was modest, but he dressed up for Sundays. He didn’t believe in taking pain meds, he used vitamins and herbs for medicine.

He taught his children how to earn money honestly, such as selling cookies to their neighbors, and other such odd jobs. He earned money after he became disable by rented out his houses; but he spent a great deal repairing them himself. A lot of people took advantage of his goodness, because often they wouldn’t pay the rent.  He believed in doing what was right and paying his bills, even though he was cheated a couple of times. He didn’t use credit cards, he didn’t want to owe any man anything.

He observed his kids daily including what they wore to school and made sure they dressed appropriately and modest. He was strong willed and determined in fighting to continue to be a great provider and Christian despite the struggle he faced just to get up every morning. Things and places that interested him were Israel, God’s chosen land and the Grand Canyon, because he read that it was carved out during the flood.

When he was serving in the Vietnam war he was wounded because he stepped on a booby trap. His sergeant tried to get him to leave and go back to be treated for his wound, but he refused because he didn’t want any special treatment. He got promoted right after that. He earned a medal for his bravery.

He was Conservative man because he didn’t want to waste money; because he knew what he had in this life was given to him by God and he wanted to be a good steward. Dad believed in giving to people that needed it.  I remember he heard a pastor say that he needed some new boots because his was worn out.  The next week he had mailed him money to buy some.

These were some of the things that showed what a godly man he was. He tried to live a moral life, teaching his family to do the same. He lived his life by his beliefs. He believed in the Lord Jesus Christ and what the Bible teaches; such as: Do not Steal, Do not Kill, Do not commit adultery, Honor thy Father and Mother, Love one Another, Do not Covet, Do not take the name of the Lord thy God in Vain, etc…

What is Sin?

Most People think they know what sin is but don’t fully understand what sin is and why we must repent from it. Sin is what separates us from God the Father. Genesis 3:18 says: And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. See God use to walk with Adam and Eve in the Garden, but after sin took place (sin of disobedience), they no longer could walk with God. As the story in the Bible tells us that they were kicked out of the Garden after they took of the fruit that God told them not to eat. Genesis 3:24-So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Romans 5:12 says-Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Sin is the reason we can not live forever. Sin brought on destruction of the body, therefore all men will have to die.

So what is sin? The Bible says in James 4:17-Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. This means that if you know you are not suppose to steal, cheat, lie, kill, and you do it anyway, it is sin! Which we all know these are sins, but some do these anyway. There are other sins that people do that the Bible tells us not to do. Then there are things the Bible says that we need to do, but we don’t do or neglect to do. These are part of serving and helping others.

The Bible tells us to give to others; whether that is food they need or money, it is commanded that we do this. Matthew 5:42-Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. God tells us to give to others but he also rewards us for doing so. Luke 6:38 says- Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

So after sin came unto the world, all men must one day die, but the Bible tells us that we can be resurrected unto Jesus Christ if we believe and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. 1 Corinthians 5:21-22-For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. Heaven doesn’t have corruption or sin, therefore we must one day die, unless we live for the rapture of Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:50-54 says-Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Other scriptures: Romans 6:12-Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Romans 6:14-For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. Romans 6:22-But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. Romans 5:15-But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one (Adam) many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

The Wedding is Prepared, Are You Ready

God is ready to call his people, the Bride, home to be with him. He has sent out witnesses to all parts of the world, compelling people to come to Jesus. Many are rejecting him, whether by excuse or unbelief. Now is the Time of Salvation! One day it will be too late! One day God will pull his people from this earth to their Heavenly home. Today, you can go to Heaven freely, by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. But one day, it will be too late. God is preparing a place for believers to go! The Bible says in John 14:2, In my Father’s house are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, and if I go to prepare a place for you, I will return and receive you unto myself, that where I am, you may be also.

Jesus has Risen

tombjesus

Matthew 28:6- He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

Today is Easter morning, which represents our Lord Jesus’ resurrection from the tomb or grave. Jesus isn’t dead, but risen Savior, alive and standing on the right side of the Father. He had saved people from death; healed the sick, helped people out of financial burdens and he has changed many many people’s lives.

Until we realize that Jesus is still ALIVE,  we cannot fully comprehend that he is able to save others from death.  He is not in the grave.  He is not only in Heaven but amongst each and everyone of us.  He hears our prayers, cares about our sorrows, heals our diseases and he has sacrificed his own life on the cross for each and everyone.  He is Alive.  Death could not hold him.  Romans 6:9 says: Romans 6:9-Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

Romans 6:4-Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Philippians 2:8-And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Acts 2:22-24-Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

2 Timothy 1:10-But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

1 Peter 3:18-For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

Revelation 1:18-I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death

What is the Rapture?

The word Rapture is not listed in the Bible, but the believers in Jesus Christ refer to the scripture that talks about how the saints will be risen with Christ. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
(1Cor.15:52,1Cor.15:53).

In another passage, the Bible talks about how all his believers will rise including those that have passed on before, how the dead in Christ will rise first. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (1Thess.4:16,1Thess.4:17).

Christian believers will rise from the earth to meet Jesus in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord. So are you ready to meet the Lord, face to face? It’s time to get ready and comfort one another with his words.

Savior- Name of Christ

Jesus is referred by many names! His names recognizes his characteristic traits. He is our Counselor, Savior, Mediator, Lord. He was born into this world to save sinners, to become a sacrifice for our sins. His precious blood became our atonement, because without it sin would remain in us. Sin is not allowed into God’s glory, or Heaven. God is holy and we must become holy. We cannot cleanse ourselves ever. We are not taught to sin, We have a sin nature instilled in us at birth.

Jesus was the only one without sin. He had a miraculous birth. He was born of the Father God to a virgin woman named Mary. Therefore he is the only one who can deliver us from sin. He is the only way to God, through him, we can have eternal life. 1 John 5:11 says: And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his son. John 3:16 says: For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Salvation is precious, it is a free gift to all that believe in him. It takes faith to believe in something you have never seen. But without faith, it is impossible to please God, for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6). Jesus talked a lot about faith. Luke 5:20 says: And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man thy sins are forgiven thee. Luke 7:50 says: And he said unto the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee, go in peace.

The definition of faith is to have trust in something. To believe in God or his teachings. And having devotion to a person or diety. Faith takes action It is acting upon your belief by serving and obeying.

Jesus- The Savior of the World

We have just celebrated the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He was born to die for the sins of the whole world. Salvation is a free gift to all that receive him. Jesus the son of God, Let us hold fast our profession – Hebrews 4:14. For we can go boldly to the throne of God to receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need -Hebrews 4:16.

Christ became our high priest and is able to offer prayers and supplications for us. He can make intercession for our sins and became our mediator because he was without sin. He is holy, harmless, undefiled, and the son of God- Hebrews 7. He became our sacrifice and sanctified us forever – Hebrews 10:10-12.

We have a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin” (Hebrews 4:15). For he is our representative between us and God. 1 Timothy 2:5 says, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” This means he intercedes on our behalf. He is our counselor, moderator, Lord, Savior and friend.

Titus 3:5,6 5 says: Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Jesus is waiting for us to accept his gift of salvation to all that call upon him. Romans 10:9,10 says: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

The Christmas Gift

Today is the day we celebrate the wonderful birthday of our Lord Jesus Christ. God loved us so much that he sent his only son to die for the sins of the world. He came by a miraculous birth to a virgin woman named Mary. See God chose Mary as the vessel to deliver his son. An Angel appeared unto her to tell her she would have a son and to call his name Jesus. Mary was espoused to Joseph at the time and after she delivered Jesus, Joseph became his earthly father. The Shepherds were told by the angel where Jesus was born. They came to celebrate his birth. Later the Wiseman brought gifts to celebrate and honor Jesus. Herod sought to destroy Jesus, but thankfully God protected him. Jesus lived a humble life to show mankind that he was one of them. He could have came as a king but he came as a servant of God to teach others about the love of God. God doesn’t pick the rich or well educated to be saved. He opens the door for all mankind, whether they are poor, blind, sick or of low stature.

For whosoever calls on the name of God, shall be saved. -Romans 10:13. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. – Romans 6:23.

Jesus Can Handle All Our Problems

Jesus is Gods son, but also was a man who experienced everything an earthly man has. He suffered, had pain, had trials and more. Therefore he knows what we are going through. He knows how we feel when we have trials and tribulations. He is able to help us overcome them. All we have to do is ask him. The Bible says we have not because we ask not.

Jesus doesn’t choose perfect people. He accepts all that come to him in repentance. He can change the most sinful person. He can give love to the one who hates. He can heal the sick. He can help us overcome all our problems. He can make us a vessel of honor and godliness.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16.

A Vessel of Honor

The last few years have been a time of trial and hardship for almost everyone. We have been through a recent epidemic. We have had financial ups and downs. We have heard about different countries around the world fighting with each other over lands, beliefs, etc… Each individual has been through some trying times, me included. I’ve often questioned why? I’m a born again, God fearing, Christian who believes in honoring God, worshipping God and most definitely serving him. But, like most people, I’ve seen my fair share of struggles. If you have read any of my posts, you will know things I’ve dealt with and faced.

So recently, I prayed and asked God, why! I’m living right, attending church, trying my best. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. My health has declined, I’ve been through the fire. I know things could be worse, and I praise God that they are not. Recently I’ve read about the Potter in Jeremiah 18. So I made a video to tell you how much that I have been shown and learned. God forms us, refines us for his purpose.
