God gave many many instructions through his holy word, the Bible of how we ought to behave. He also gave us scriptures on what not to do. He wants us to come out from among them and be clean. 2 Corinthians 6:17 says: Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. He wants us to forgive, show kindness, mercy and love to others. Colossians 3:12-13 says: Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
Not only are we to be separate from the world but we should possess holiness. 1 Thessalonians 4:4,7 says: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour, For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
We should let our lights shine upon this earth. Philippians 2:14-15 says: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world. We should care about others more than ourselves. Philippians 2:3-5 says: Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
And if we have did something that we know is sin, we should confess our sins and repent from our sins. Acts 2:38-Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 1 John 1:9 says: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Then after we have confessed our sins, then we should stay away from things that are sin. 1 Thessalonians 5:22-23- Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Always give thanks to God for his forgiveness and his sacrifice on the cross. Colossians 1:12-14- Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
