As a Christian we know that God blesses those who live a life that is godly, or strive to. Sometimes it is hard to live godly, but we must strive to honor his word, stand for what is right and always ask for his forgiveness when we sin. God will forgive you of your sins if you simply ask him to; and when you turn from that sin. The Lord will hear you when you call upon him in prayer.
We read in Psalm 1 –:Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so; but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. Psalm 4:1,3, 7,8- Hear me when I call, O God, of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto him. Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased. I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only maketh me dwell in safety. Psalm 34:15, 17-19- The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous; but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.
