Sometimes God speaks to us through our own life experiences. Sometimes things don’t always work out. Sometimes things get in the way of what we want to happen. As I was sitting in my car praying about my family and wondering why things don’t always go as planned, I started thinking about my son. I want my son to live a happy life and to be respected for the person he truly is. Sometimes I feel that he is taken for granted. Then it was like the Lord spoke to me. I realized that God must feel the same way that I do.
Jesus is God’s son and people don’t honor him and show him the respect he deserves. Not only does Jesus love each and every person, but he dedicated his life for others. He suffered on a cross for the sins of the world. And how does the world pay him back for his sacrifice? They often deny him, mock him, or neglect him. Either they deny his existence all together, or laugh at him and/or other Christians that worship him. Or they neglect him by not giving him any attention. They may refuse to go to church; putting up excuse after excuse. They may forsake prayer all together or refuse to read his holy Word. Or they may refuse to worship him during the holidays; such as at Christmas or Easter.
So let’s try to remember what Christmas is all about this year. It isn’t about presents or cooking a great dinner. Christmas, first of all, should be about Jesus. Without Jesus, where would we be today. Try doing something that would honor him. Try singing songs of praise and worship. Try attending a church service. Try kneeling on your knees and saying a long prayer. I ask you to respect the Lord Jesus and let’s celebrate his wonderful birth this year.
Hope You All Have a Very Merry Christmas!
