Are You a Lukewarm Christian

lukewarm

How many people do you know that claim they know God and are saved, but show no works or dedication to the Lord.  They don’t go to church but once on Easter or maybe Christmas.  They continue to live their life like they want to; in sin.  Or perhaps they go to a liberal church who plays rock and roll, flashing lights, and where people dance on stage like it is a nightclub, not a church.  I’m sorry but my Bible says: For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? (1 Peter 4:17).  A church should be holy and people should respect it.  But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the houseofGod, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth (1 Timothy 3:15).

There are definite signs to being a lukewarm Christian; a person who talks to God when it is convient or when they are sick and want healing.  A person who believes in God but don’t share their faith with others.  A person who doesn’t stand up against something that is wrong, because they don’t want to lose their friends.  A person who will hang out with friends even though they may be drinking or doing something they shouldn’t.  I heard a sermon about being a lukewarm Christian; it can refer to a Christian who is in a backslidden condition.

What does it mean to be lukewarm?  Lukewarm means to be in a backslidden condition, neither cold nor hot, God said he would spew this church out of his mouth, a church age that makes God sick! A church age that is deceived, and lacks the true testimony of God. Because thou Sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods and have need of nothing; flesh is satisfied while the Spirit is starving! Deceived by the love of the world, and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind and naked. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth (Revelation 3:16).

So you may ask how to be hot and not lukewarm.

  1. Keep God first in your life
  2. Pray daily and often
  3. Attend a Bible preaching church
  4. Witness, share the gospel of Christ
  5. Repent of your sins and turn from them.
  6. Ask God for his guidance and direction in your life
  7. Keep your mind pure from worldly things; such as:
  • Don’t watch shows on television that you shouldn’t
  • Don’t read books you shouldn’t
  • Walk away from others that are talking trash
  • Don’t look at pornographic or nasty material

The Word is Our Bread and Water

This post was written by a Philippino Minister- Junefer Movilla Oyanib.

I’d like to post this because this is my heart beat- the world. We need to realize that there are a lot of people who have died without knowing about Salvation.  Some have been poor in spirit, poor in financial, and poor in physical health. They don’t have enough food to eat everyday, because of there situation/condition.  They have a lack of knowledge about Jesus, they have died from hunger or thirst and without direction in there life. Have you ever realized brethren that we have so much to GIVE this kind of people.

I would like to ask you:

1. Who is the bread of Life?

2. Who is the Living Water?

People died with hunger and thirst because they don’t know Jesus. *Have you ever given the BREAD to the Hungry? *Have you ever give the WATER to the Thirsty?

This may sound harsh but, Brethren, don’t be selfish. Let’s share the Bread and Water to others.   Lets share bread and water, who is JESUS, because only Jesus is their Hope. They really need Jesus.

Life is all about; the glory of God. — Worshipping God — declaring of who God is — and Loving God and others.

These photos are from his ministry in the Philippines:

Examine Your Heart

service

Sometimes it takes someone else to show you or tell you something to open up your eyes; to remind you about something that you have forgotten or haven’t paid attention to lately.  A young minister from the Philippines reminded me that whats in the heart is what matters to God.  God doesn’t look at the outward appearance, he doesn’t look at how much money you have, he doesn’t even look at what great works you have done for him.  He looks at the heart of a man. He looks at the meek of heart;  the compassion shown to others, the love for others, kindness shown to the fellow man.  He looks for the true repentance of man from the heart.  The person whose heart is eager to make a difference in the lives of others, by sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.

Reblogged from January 2017_______________________________________________________

Sometimes when I am driving home from work, I listen to the Bible on CD in my car. First I usually talk to the Lord and see what he wants to show me in his word. As I was talking to the Lord I started to evaluate why he loved me. I thought to myself that I was not the same girl I once was. Over the years, I have put on a lot of weight, my hair is starting to grey, I now have dark circles under my eyes, etc… I thought the Lord deserves much better than to have a misfit like me in his family. He is the King of Kings and I have nothing to offer, at least by the worlds standards. That is when I thought of how he chose people on this earth that were not desirable people. At one point, Job was covered in boils. Lazarus was a beggar with sores that the dogs came to lick, but Jesus still loved him. Moses couldn’t communicate well with others, at least he thought he could’nt. David was young and referred as a ruddy youth. Jesus chose poor fishermen to be his disciples.

So as I thought about this, I thought that God couldn’t be looking at how great someone was, how rich they were, how beautiful, how wise in age they were, how popular they were with the crowds. God chose the Meek to inherit the earth (Matthew 5:5). See God doesn’t look at the outward appearance of man, but the Lord looks upon the heart (1 Samuel 16:7). But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price (1 Peter 3:4).

God cares about the heart of man, not someone who appears perfect without.  Matthew 23:25-28 says: Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. In case you don’t fully understand what this means, lets look at Galatians 5:22-But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance:

Didn’t God destroy the earth by a flood because he looked upon man and saw:that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually Genesis 6:5).  Knowing this shouldn’t we focus more on having a pure heart, than working on our outward appearance.

Matthew 5:4-10-Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

So please examine your heart and see what is inside.  Is it a heart of love, kindness, joy or a heart of pride, hate, envy. Pray and ask the Lord Jesus to cleanse your heart and make you a new creature in Christ.

Jesus is Alive

FB_IMG_1522158271680

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. – John 15:13. God gave his precious son to die for our sins on the cross.

Anyone who has had a son or daughter, that they have lost to death, has had a glimpse of what God went through when he gave us his son. The most precious thing that belongs to someone is their family and especially their children. Jesus was God’s son before his birth on this earth. This should show you how much God sacrificed because he loves us. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him, shall not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

I have had close family members to die and have seen other family members lose someone close to them. My sister lost her baby, Shelly when she was six months old. She didn’t choose to give her daughter to death. She was a special little girl who God loved and took at an early age. I have only caught of glimpse of what it would be like to lose a child to death. It is an overwhelming grief that takes a lifetime to overcome.

God loved us so much that he decided to give his son as a sacrifice on the cross. I can only imagine that giving your child to death is much harder than to lose a child suddenly. To see your child suffer a terrible death on a cross. To see your child spit upon and beaten and then mocked would be unbearable. Our sins were laid upon Jesus on the cross, so we could be forgiven.

Jesus paid the penalty for our sin when he died in our place; so that whosoever believes in him might have eternal life. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Jesus told his disciples that he must go to the Father but one day he will return to receive us unto himself.  John 14:3 says, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”  You must receive Jesus as your Savior or you will miss his second coming.

If you are ready to accept Jesus as your Savior then all you have to do is go to him in prayer.  If you don’t know what to say when you pray then you can use this prayer as a model prayer, but you must pray from your heart.  Jesus isn’t looking for an elegant prayer but a heart-felt prayer.

Lord Jesus, I humbly come before you to ask for your forgiveness for my sins.  I believe you came to this earth, died and arose the third day.  I believe you died for the sins of the world including mine.  I ask you to be my Savior and come into my heart.  Please accept me into your family and make me your son.  In Jesus name I pray. Amen

What God Hath Joined Together

wedding

A couple preparing for their wedding day should consider this:  God does not look on marriage lightly.  He gives us several scriptures about the topic, that we need to consider.  For example: When a couple decides to get married, they become one flesh according to God. Ephesians 5:31 says, “For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.”  God tells us that they should be committed to each other because one day they will be heirs together in Heaven.  1 Peter 3:7 says, “Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.”

Marriage is not only a joyous occasion but a lifetime commitment.  It shouldn’t be taken lightly, but marriage should be for life.  In 1 Corinthians 13: we learn that love bears all things.  Love suffers long and is kind, not easily provoked or puffed up.  Love bears all things and endures all things.  A man or woman who loves one another isn’t concerned about their own desires but the needs of each other.  They might endure a great deal but they must forgive one another as Christ forgives us.

Marriage was first talked about in Genesis 2:24.  “And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.  Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”  Notice how it says a man will leave his father and mother and cleave unto his wife.

First lets define what sanctity means.  It is defined as holiness, saintliness,or godliness. Therefore it is not defined as lust, ungodliness or a certain way of life. Hebrews 13:4 says, “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.”

God tells us that a woman should be under subjection to her husband; and a man should love his wife like Christ loves the church.  Ephesians 5:24,25 says, “ Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.”

God tells his people in Jeremiah 29:6  “ Take ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; that ye may be increased there, and not diminished.”  He clearly says that a man is to be with a woman so that they can have children.  Another scripture is in Genesis 1:28, God told male and female to be fruitful and multiple and replenish the earth.

A man or woman shouldn’t commit adultery for this is one of God’s ten commandments. Exodus 20:14, “Thou shalt not commit adultery.”  1 Corinthians 7 talks about how a man and woman are bound under a law to each other. The wife is bound to her husband including in their personal relationship.  They are not to defraud each other except for fasting and prayer.   If one dies than they are freed from the law to remarry another.  If they separate from each other, they are not to remarry.  There is one exception, the Bible says if a man puts away his wife except for adultery causes her to commit adultery and if he remarries commits adultery himself (Matthew 19).

Ecclesiastes 9:9-Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun. Ephesians 5:23-For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8-  Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,  Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;  Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;  Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

Gods Mercy Endures Forever

earofsoldier

Recently I read how Jesus healed one of the servants of the high priest, who was coming to arrest him, right before the Crucifixion. Luke 22:50-52 says: And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear. And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him. Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?

Wow what compassion and mercy Jesus showed to this man. Keep in mind, Jesus knew what was coming. He knew he would be cruxified on a cross. He knew what he was going to suffer, which was so terrible. John 18:4 says: Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye? Isaiah 53: 5,6 says: But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Jesus knows our sins and he is willing to forgive us if we would repent of our sins, and go to him in prayer, and ask for forgiveness. Jesus is full of compassion and is merciful to us, which are all sinners.  Ephesians 2:3-8- Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

What is Love

love1

With Valentines Day around the corner, I want to examine what love really is.  Why does our Heavenly Father love us?  What have we done that deserved a love from a Powerful God above?  We haven’t done anything to earn his love.  Most of the time, we don’t ever think about God.  We often go on our day without praying or spending time with God above.  Our thoughts are not of love but ourselves.  But somehow in the midst of our own desires and our worries of life, we find an overwhelming love that was unearned, undeserved and unending.

See God loves us despite our failures, despite our short-comings, despite our indifference and disrespect for him.  So why does he loves us? Because God is love.  To truly examine love you need to examine God’s nature and character.  God’s character shows me that he is a:

  • Longsuffering God- patiently awaiting us to repent
  • Graceful God- showing mercy upon us
  • Sacrificial God- gave his life for the sins of mankind
  • Protecting God- watches over us and delivers us from evil
  • Compassionate God- he cares for our wellbeing and happiness
  • Giving God- gives us blessings without measure
  • Trustworthy God- we can count on his word
  • Forgiving- forgives us many times of our sins

God is a Loving God- because he is charitable, caring, kind.  He gives us comfort, peace, happiness, forgiveness and mercy.  Everything we have in this life is because God gave it to us.  God has blessed me with my family, job, home, food, clothing, peace, happiness, joy and a promise of eternal life in Heaven one day.  He has promised in his word all these things and I trust in his promises.

1 John 4:7-19 says: Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us.

Gods Understanding Infinite

wisdom

Isaiah 55:7-9- Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

James 1:5-If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

1 Corinthians 1:19-31- For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

Love of God

crossandheart

The love of God is so amazing.  He sent his only son to die for our sins so we could have forgiveness for our sins and receive everlasting life.  The Bible tells us in John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  Romans 5:8 says: But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Jesus loved us so much that he gave his life for us. Ephesians 5:2 says: And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

1 John 4: 10-19 says: Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Bear Your Cross Daily

cross

It is getting harder and harder to live in this world where there are so many unrighteous people standing up and marching for wickedness and openly proud of themselves.  I’ve been thinking about Lot lately.  The Bible tells us that Lot (vexed his righteous soul from day to day because of their unlawful deeds).  He lived in a terrible place and lived among those who lived wickedly and committed evil openly.  Today many are doing evil deeds and they don’t seem to blush about it either.  Today they had a women’s march where their hats represented ……; well not going to say it.  But they don’t seem to even know why they are marching and others are praising this kind of evil behavior.  John 16:2-They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.  2 Timothy 3:1-5-This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Jesus told up to take up our cross and follow him.  Sometimes we have to bear a heavy cross and live in a world that evil abounds.  Satan has blinded the eyes of those that don’t know Jesus as Lord.  They think they are doing right but they are doing wickedness. Isaiah 5:20-Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Read this about Lot: 2 Peter 2:4-8- For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds.

Luke 9:23,24 says, “ And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.”

Matthew 19:29-And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
