Warring Against the Flesh

weapons

The flesh constantly wars with the spirit. When is it okay to stand up against others that are worldly, without letting the flesh take control. The last week I have been tried several times and things have come against me in all directions. I have had to fight hard against my fleshly thoughts and desires to fight back. I have fought hard to remain in the spirit. See, I want to stand up and make a difference, but in the right way. It is difficult to do this when we war against the world. So I have to ask myself “How?” without letting my flesh take over.

First the Bible says, Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful (Psalm 1:1). The workplace can be the most ungodly place there is. Christians working in a place with others that has no moral code. There are whisperers and backbiters that take council against the believer. But, there is joy knowing that God is in control. He protects his people from those that come against them.

Second, God did not say that being angry was sin. The Bible says, Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath (Ephesians 4:26). It is what we chose to do when we are angry. God does not want us to retaliate against others. A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger (Proverbs 15:1). I have learned a lesson this week; that a soft answer will turn away wrath, but we must not stir up anger in someone first, then not expect them not to be angry. It is harder to get someone to cool down after they are angry.

Next, we have nothing to fear against the unbeliever. Psalms 3:3-6 says, But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah. I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about. Proverbs 19:19 says, A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment.

Last of all, do not think it strange that Christians will suffer on this earth. Acts 14:22, Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. Romans 8:17 says, And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Read more about the war with the flesh in the following verses.

  • Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
  • 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
  • 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
  • 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
  • Romans 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
  • 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
  • 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
  • 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
  • 12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
  • 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
  • 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Bullying Must Stop

bullying
It is sad to hear of so many young people killing themselves because of bullying. Verbal slurs, mocking someone, taunting and physical threats often lead some teenagers to suicide. Bullying is a growing concern and problem of adolescents, which is increasingly conducted in cyberspace as well as in the schoolyard. Some bullying may be caused by peer pressure, other times from jealousy and mere hatred. This type of conduct affects adolescents psychologically and should be stopped. Authorities are looking into several cases where young girls and boys committed suicide due to harassment by other teens.  An anti-bullying law will soon go into affect that will help prevent such crimes.

It is imperative to stop such crimes because they are ungodly.  These actions are evil and those who do such things will be held accountable for their actions. If you are one that is being bullied, we ask you to get help from someone; someone that will listen.  Tell your teacher, parent or a friend. If you are one that witness such things, we urge you to tell someone. You might save a life.

Examples of bullying that led to suicide involved:

  1. Knocking books out of someone’s hands on purpose.
  2. Throwing things at someone
  3. Yelling at someone and calling them names.
  4. Taunting and physical threats
  5. Posting things on the internet that are degrading
  6. Physical assault such as hitting or sexual assault.
  7. Allowing someone else to be abused and not stopping it.

Look at the following verses that teach us how to treat others.

  • Luke 6:31 says, And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:15 saysSee that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
  • 1 Peter 3:9 says, Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
  • Matthew 5:44 says, But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
  • Matthew 18:10 says, Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
  • Mark 9:42 says, And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

Hell- A Place of Torment

hell
Have you ever burned your finger on a stove or burnt your mouth from drinking something too hot? Imagine how bad the pain felt. Imagine burning like that all over your body including your mouth. There is a place of torment where people will burn forever, called Hell. Hell is real place that exist and is described in the Bible. A sinner who refuses to repent and accept Christ as their Savior will go to such a place. There is only one way into Heaven and that is through Jesus Christ.

Hell enlarges itself daily with the ones who reject Christ. Isaiah 5:14 says, Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it. So it is important to accept Christ now. Revelation 20:15 says, And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Is your name written down in the book of life?

Satan’s demons are in hell. 2 Peter 2:4 says, For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; Matthew 25:41 says, Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. God does not want you to go to this place of torment. You have a chance to escape this place called Hell. Accept Jesus Christ as your Savior.

To give the best description of hell, let’s look at the following verses.

  • Mark 9:45–And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
  • Matthew 25:30–And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
  • Luke 16:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
  • Revelation 20:10–And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Hell is a real place of torment, burning, fear, and unquenchable thirst.  To escape this place, all you have to do is accept Christ into your life and repent of your sins.  Now is the time to accept the free gift of Salvation.  If you have a need or question, use our comments tab at the top of the screen.

God is our Protector

protection
Have you ever been in a situation that you thought that nothing could help you? A time when everything came against you, and you thought that no one could come to your aid. Let me tell you that I know of someone who can help you in your time of need. A God that is a refuge and very present help in the time of trouble (Psalm 46:1). He can make your enemies to be at peace with you (Proverbs 16:7). He can deliver you from trouble if you would call upon his name (Psalm 91:15). He can heal you from whatever disease that you have and comfort you near death (Psalms 103:3 and Psalms 30:2). He can help you when you are grieving (Psalms 147:3).

He is a God that can protect us from trouble and protect us from any evil that may come our way, if we would only trust in him. Psalm 91:9 says, Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation. Psalm 91:10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. We can abide under the shadow of the Almighty by having faith in him (Psalm 91:1). He sends his angels to protect us from when we are harmed (Psalm 91:11).

No matter how big the problem is and no matter how long you have dealt with the problem, God can help you. If your heart is troubled and you don’t know where else to turn, Jesus can help you (Luke 4:18). He is a God of forgiveness and he can deliver you from sorrow. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Samuel 22:2 says, And he said, The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer.

If you need God and need him in any way, he is there for you. If you have enemies that come against you, he can make your enemies to be at peace with you. Proverbs 16:7 says, When a man’s ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. Psalm 18:3 says, I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

Now is the time to call upon him and trust that he will deliver you and help you in your time of need. Psalm 55:16 says, As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me. Psalm 86:7 says, In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me. Psalm 145:18 says, The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. Romans 10:13 says, For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

If you have decided to trust in Jesus and he has helped you, we want to hear from you. Please use our contact button on the top of the screen.

God’s People are Called for Service

servant2
In times past, God chose certain great men for service. From Moses to Jonah and from David to the apostles; he still calls people today. God’s people are called to do his will and serve him. Even Jesus said that he was sent to do the will of his father. If you are a Christian, God has chosen you to lead others to Christ. A Christian should stand up for the name of the Lord and help lead others to salvation. Rejoice for ye are now servants of the living God. Psalms 35:27 says, that we should shout for joy because the Lord has pleasure in the prosperity of his servants.

  • God chose Israel to be his people. Deuteronomy 7:6 For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
  •  God chose Moses to lead his people out of bondage to a land flowing with milk and honey (Exodus 3:10).
  • Jesus called his disciples to spread the gospel. Luke 6:13, “And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles”
  • God calls Saul for service (Acts 9). 1 Corinthians 1:1 says, “Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God.” Paul did a great work for Christ. Romans 15:16 says “That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.” Acts 9:15 talks about how Paul was a chosen vessel.
  • God called men to serve in the church. 1 Corinthians 12:28 says, “And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.”
  • God not only called the Jews to salvation, but the Gentiles (other races), to him. Romans 9:24 says, “Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles.” Acts 11:18 says, “When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.”
  • God called men to be separate from the world.  2 Corinthians 6: 17, 18 says, “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”

Matthew 20:16 says, “So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.” See God knows the heart of man and whom will seek after him.   2 Chronicles 7:14 says, ” If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”     Jeremiah 24:7 says, “And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the Lord: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.”  Romans 6:22 says,  “But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.” Psalms 34:22 says, “The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.”

The Death of the Cross

jesus2

Who can imagine a death that could be so cruel and undeserving? A man killed without reason or fault. A man mocked, tormented and killed for someone else. See Jesus Christ didn’t die for the sins that he had committed but died for the sins of the world. He was innocent of the crimes that he was accused of.

Now remember Jesus was the son of God. He could have called twelve legions of angels to come and rescue him from the cross but didn’t (Matthews 26:53). He chose to give his life so others could receive salvation. He loved the world and didn’t want any to perish and receive death (2 Peter 3:9, Romans 6:23). He wanted to extend his hand to anyone that would only believe on him and ask him for salvation (Romans 10:13, John 3:16).

You might ask why Jesus had to die for the sins of the world. Well, God is a holy God, full of righteousness and hates sin. Romans 1:18 says, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness.” Unrighteousness and corruption cannot enter into Heaven; (1 Corinthians 15:50.) This is why Jesus- his holy son, came to die for the sins of the world. His blood paid the atonement for our sins at Calvary (Hebrews 9:22, Romans 5:10,11, Matthew 26:28).

To fully appreciate what happened at Calvary, you need to see what took place. In the following verses you will see that he was scourged, mocked, hit, unclothed, spit on, and then crucified.

  • Mark 15:15–And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.
  • Verse 16 And the soldiers led him away into the hall, called Praetorium; and they call together the whole band.
  • Verse 17 And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head,
  • Verse 18 And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews!
  • Verse 19 And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him.
  • Verse 20 And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him.
  • Matthew 27: 27- Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.
  • Verse 28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.
  • Verse 29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
  • Verse 30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.
  • Verse 31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.
  • Verse 32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.
  • Verse 33 And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,
  • Verse 34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.
  • Verse 35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
  • Verse 36 And sitting down they watched him there;
  • Verse 37 And set up over his head his accusation written, This Is Jesus The King Of The Jews.
  • Verse 38 Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.
  • Verse 39 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,
  • Verse 40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.
  • Verse 41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,
  • Verse 42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
  • Verse 43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.
  • Verse 44 The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.
  • Verse 45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.
  • Verse 46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
  • Verse 47 Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias.
  • Verse 48 And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.
  • Verse 49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.
  • Verse 50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

What exactly happened when one was crucified in the past. Crucify means: execute or put (someone) to death by nailing or binding them to a cross, esp. as an ancient punishment.

Jesus Christ- Our Cornerstone

jesus
Jesus should be our main example to follow when it comes to anything in life. Whether you question your existence, reason for living, or how to act in life.  Jesus is our foundation, our example to follow: 1 Corinthians 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:21 says, For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps. Ephesians 2:20 says, “And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone.” To see why Jesus is so important in the believer’s hearts lets look at who he is. 1 Corinthians 15:3 tells us that he was born to die for the sins of the world.

He was born of the Holy Spirit and had a miraculous birth.

  • Matthew 1:18 says, “Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.”
  • Matthew 1:20 says, “Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.  And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.”

He teaches us and all the world what to do to receive salvation.

  •  1 John 1:9 says,”If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
  • Matthew 4:17 says,” From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” So we know that we first must repent to receive salvation.
  • Romans 3: 22 says, “Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”

He heals the sick and forgives us of our sins.

  • 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
  • Psalms 30:2 says, “O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.”
  • Acts 10:38 says, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”

He died on a cross for mankind.

  • Philippians 2:8 says, “And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”
  • Hebrews 12:2 says, “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Only One Choice to Make

choice2
Everyday we are faced with decisions and we have to choose between one thing or another. The choice to go to college, the choice to go to work, the choice of getting married or the choice of what to do in life. The thing is that one choice that you make can be a very costly mistake. One choice can be the difference in life or death. One choice can make all the difference. The country singer George Jones made a decision to quit drinking and change his life. In an interview he tells how he made the choice to accept Christ into his life. One might say, “I’m confused about the Bible or I don’t know if I should choose Jesus Christ as my Savior.” See the only right choice one can make about Jesus Christ is to accept him. He is the only way that you can have eternal life. He said, He is the way, the truth and the life. No man can go to the Heavenly father without Jesus.

jesus

Some might blame a choice they made on someone else. They might say, If my mother or my father didn’t make me go to college, I would have made a better choice in my career. Or if the weather was better than I would have gotten to work on time. See the choices we make not only  affect us but it can affect everything in our life. If we knew it was raining, why didn’t we leave for work earlier. If we didn’t go to college, we might be living at home without a job.

See no one can make choices for us. They might give us their opinion but the choice is up to us. Only you can make the right choice for your life.  Accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and it will be the best thing you have ever done.

One thing to think about when making a choice is:

1. Will I regret this later?
2. Will I be ashamed of this later on in life?
3. Am I choosing this decision because it is easier?
4. Am I choosing this because this is what others expect of me?
5. Is fear standing in my way of making a better decision?
6. Is this the best decision for me?

In the Wikipedia, online encyclopedia, it tells us that the definition of choice is “the mental process of judging the merits of multiple options and selecting one or more of them.”

Do Not Let Fear Take Control of your Life

With the current government shutdown and the economy on the verge of a collapse, it is easy to become fearful. Some people have constant fear or worries that bring on stress, therefore interrupting their joy and happiness. Most people usually worry about money, health, safety. So many people talking about negative things, no wonder why people are depressed and fearful. So I wanted to make this a post of encouragement. Something that might help you with your everyday life. First, lets look at things that make a person joyful and happy.

1. Contentment is something that can bring you happiness. If you are not content with your life, you will never fully be happy. My grandmother didn’t have money or riches or material possessions but she seemed content with herchurch1 life. She never questioned or wavered on her beliefs in Christ.

2. Trust in the Lord and cast all your worries and cares to Jesus. I heard a sermon about “Casting All your Care Upon Him for He Careth For You”, found in 1 Peter 5:7. The preacher stated that this verse has several different meanings. One meaning is to give all your worries or cares unto the Lord for he cares for you and will help you to overcome them. By trusting in the Lord, he will help you to overcome your worries.

3. Accepting Christ can make a person happy. No greater joy can a person feel than when they first accept Christ as their Savior. If you have never heard about Jesus, it might take you some time to fully trust in him. I have been a Christian since I was fifteen years old. That is when I accepted Christ. At that moment I felt a true sense of peace that cannot be understood by the unbeliever. I say that if you surrender to Christ, he will help you with all your cares. Take that leap of faith and surrender to him.

4. Casting away all doubt can keep you from fearing life. I know that not one person can really control their life or health. You can diet, exercise, and stay stress free but God is the one who controls your life. I’m not saying those things are not important because they really are. It is when you place your life in God’s hands then you can truly become healed. One thing I quote when I start to worry about something is: Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. (Isaiah 41:10)

5. Prayer is still the number one way to relieve fear. Prayer can help you overcome anything. How do you talk to God? We can wish for a care free world, but that is not always going to happen. We can pray for a better world and God may help us to live in this world with more peace in our lives. With Prayer one can overcome all life’s obstacles. God does not answer prayers always the way we want him to, but he will answer them. Remember he is all-knowing and he is God. He knows what you need before you ask but he is waiting on you to talk to him.

6. Attending church and associating with other believers can bring you joy.  Find a church to go to and make friends with other Christians.  Attend church events such as Bible study or Ladies meetings.  Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation (Psalms 111:1).

7. Learning more about God by studying his word.  Let God talk to you through his word.  When you read more about God, Jesus and his disciples, it helps you realize that you are not alone.  There were things that Jesus and his disciples went through that wasn’t easy.  We have it so much easier than they did.

Everyone has experienced some form of fear in their life but, realize God is in control. When you realize that, you will not have fear but trust. Fully trust in God and allow him to have control of your mind, soul, body and your life. God says in Revelations, I am alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I am he that was, and is, and is to come the almighty. He controls the world. He controls the wind, clouds, and waves. He has been to the depth of the sea and to the outmost part of the universe. He numbers the hairs on your head. He can create life and he can take it. When you realize how almighty he is, then you can fully put your trust in him. He can help you with your problems, but you have to ask him to. Then allow him to take control of your life and you will become a happier, fearless person.

Shaping the Future Generation

The joy and innocence of a child is something beautiful and such a blessing to witness. We can all aspire to be like them in many ways. Children are innocent but are at an impresssionable age. They absorb information like a sponge. They are easily influenced and do things that they observe. If a child sees someone stealing, they will think it is perfectly acceptable until someone tells them that it is wrong. Innocence of a child is precious and many can learn from them. They do not judge, love others without question and do not try to hurt or defraud others. But innocence doesn’t remain in a child forever. They become older, and their innocence is lost.

Many parents strive to help their child to be a successful, productive citizen with a good career and a happy family. I want to teach mine to respect authority, love others, and give to others. The only way to insure this is to teach them the right path that they should take. So when they are older, they will not depart from this. Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:5-7.) Please keep in mind the condition our world is in. Everything in today’s society is an influence. Either an influence of things that are right or things that impact us negatively.

One day our children will grow up to be lawyers, presidents and doctors. Physicians have to make life and death decisions everyday. There are many that are decent but some are in the medical field just for filthy lucre. Look at some of our past presidents. We have had only a select few that you could say had moral standards.

Children are gifts from God and are here for a reason.  Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward (Psalm 127:2-4). Each person has value and each person has a purpose designed for them. Ecclesiastes 3:1,2 says, To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

Now is the time to set the example and help mold your child into an honorable individual. I am urging you to be involved in your child’s life. A child left to his own, will bring his parents to shame. The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame. (Proverbs 29:14-16)
