What’s Happening Lord

Things are happening right now in the world that is making people fear, lose faith, question God.  The Coronavirus has some people fearing to leave the house.  The government is trying to keep everyone in their homes or limiting them from going out. People are fighting over food, toilet paper and such.  Churches are closing doors or keeping them open despite only having a small handful of people attending.  Hospitals are limiting visitors who can come visit loved ones and/or altogether stopping visitors from coming.  Stores are closing early, schools have closed for the semester.  Why has the world changed overnight?  A virus that came from China has killed several people and has spread like wildfire.  Its understandable that the world would question what is going on.  But for the saved, the church of God, the Christian should know that this would come to pass.  The Bible has told us that in the last days, perilous times shall come (2 Timothy 3:1).   We don’t have to fear, Psalm 91:10 says: There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

Matthew 24:7 tells us that in the last days, For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.  We don’t have to question what is happening because Jesus told us that these things would come to pass before his return. We don’t have to fear either. We have a great physician. Matthew 9:35: And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

All we have to do is look around and realize that Jesus is coming back soon and we need to be ready.  We need to get our house in order.  Repent for our sins and take this time to spread the gospel to our families and friends.  Tell them that Jesus is coming soon. 1 Thessalonians 4:14-17-For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

God Knows Best

Recently my daughter just had a new baby.  He was born 7 days later than his due date and to much of our anticipation we were worried that we would miss the whole birth.  She lives in Texas and we are in Alabama.  We flew there a few days before her baby’s due date so we wouldn’t miss anything.  Everyday we were eager to see our new grandson.  As the days pasted, we knew time was quickly running away from us.  We had to return home on a specific date to return to work.  Our flight was scheduled and our hotel days were running out.  Money was getting low too, so we knew we could not expand the date any.

To hurry up my daughter’s delivery, we walked everyday.  Either at the mall, when it was rainy or outside her home.  We thought the walking would speed the day up.  Nothing seemed to help.  We prayed and prayed for God to intervene and allow the baby to be born.  My daughter has a health history that could have interfered with an easy delivery so I wanted to be there for her.

Days passed and the 7th day post due date arrived.  She had some minor pains that morning, so we passed it off as Braxton Hicks because they were minor. We only had 2 days left before we flew home so we were very anxious, but a little upset too.  We wanted to see our new grandson and be there for my daughter too.  I hate to say that I started to question God.  Why not allow me to see my grandson?  Why not answer my prayer?  I doubted that God heard me.  I started to doubt that God cared about me or what I wanted.

Later that night about 6pm, my daughter kept complaining of pressure.  In the back of my mind, I thought she was in labor but didn’t want to rush going to the hospital without some more confirmation or specific signs.  Her husband tried to time the pains to see if they were regular and they were to some degree.  He called the hospital number he was given to ask when to go to hospital.  It was a military hospital and they wanted him to wait till she was 2 minutes apart and in major pain.   I thought this was very strange because they usually tell you to go 5 minutes apart.  My daughter was not having bad pains either, only pressure.  I urged them to go ahead to the hospital because I didn’t want her baby to be born at home.  Her husband kept saying that he thought she was just having gas but agreed to take her on to the hospital.  When we got there she was already dilated 5 cm but not hurting hardly at all.  Since her blood pressure was up, they agreed to go ahead and hook her up to the monitor and keep her there until delivery.

Finally the baby arrived by 6 am the next morning.  Danielle was weak and white looking.  Her baby heartrate had kept dropping during the contractions.  I remember one nurse in particular that stood back and analyzed the situation.  She had Danielle turn over when needed to help the baby.  His cord was wrapped around his neck and he came out blue all over.  The midwife (Yes midwife) was in training, but the one nurse seemed to know what to do.

I looked back over the situation and the time and there was a perfect plan for this baby’s birth.  He was born 2-20-2020.  God had his date planned. Ecclesiastes 3:2 says that there is A time to be born.  That one nurse was there to help with the delivery making sure the baby and Danielle were okay.  We can question why, but God knows what is best for us.  My daughter had to have 2 units of blood afterward.  God knew certain things that we did not.  He could have been waiting for the perfect staff; the perfect time that the baby could be born safely (due to the umbilical cord).  We will never know exactly, but I know that God was watching over my daughter and her son.  He knows all and we need to learn to trust him.  God is in control and he is all knowing,  all powerful and he does care about us and our wants, but he is there to take care of us too.  I thank him for taking care of my daughter and her newborn son.

Is Repentance Needed for Salvation

Lately I came to realized that many people think that they do not need to turn from their sin; that they can continue in sin and still go to Heaven.  They think that they can call on Jesus once, attend a few church services, then go out and drink, party and live in sin without any consequences. Today rebellion is more common amongst those that claim they know God. They have the attitude, “I believe in God so he will not punish me. It doesn’t matter what I do because Jesus will forgive me.  They think they can continue to sin, drink alcohol, party, or sleep around and God will forgive them anyway. If you are one that thinks that he can live in this fashion and all will be forgiven, you are sadly mistaken and don’t understand the scriptures.

Sadly a new ungodly movement; the Progressive church is teaching falsehoods and many people are following this cult because they want to continue to sin and this fake church says they can live like the devil and still be saved.  Wrong!  The Bible teaches all man to repent of his sins.  They try to say that repent just means to turn from.  Well if that is the case; we do need to turn from sin, but we shouldn’t continue in sin, we should turn far away from it.

Mark 1:4-John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.   Luke 15:7-I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. Luke 24:47-And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

God says in 1 Corinthians 6:9,10 “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”

Don’t let Satan deceive you in believing a lie. God expects his people to live holy and to be separate from the world. Satan has blinded the eyes of man where they think that such abominations are overlooked by God. They try to tell you to accept man as he and not to “Judge him”. God will not overlook wickedness. You cannot continue in sin.

Romans 6:1-12 says: 1. What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7 For he that is dead is freed from sin. 8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: 9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. 10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

If a person says they believe in God, but they haven’t turned from their sin and want to continue in sin, then they are not born again. John 3:5- Jesus answered, Verily, verily I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom  of God.

The only answer to sin is death, but Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Romans 6:11,12 says, “Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.” Colossians 3:5 says, “Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry.” That means to put them away and not do again.

Jesus is the Light of Men

Without Jesus in our lives, we would live in darkness.  Many sinners today live in darkness because they reject the light of Jesus; which is salvation. John 3:19 says:
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. Jesus is the only cure for the darkness in your life.

John 1:1-18- In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

Building of the Temple

I just got through reading the first few chapters of 1 King. In chapter 3, God asked Solomon what he wanted in a dream.  Solomon asked wisdom because he was young and wanted to rule the people of his kingdom right. So God granted him wisdom, riches and long life.  Solomon was therefore able to build a beautiful temple for the Lord. David had wanted to build the temple build God told him because of his sins and wars that he was in, that his son would build it instead.  1 King 5-3-5 says:- Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the Lord his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the Lord put them under the soles of his feet. But now the Lord my God hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent. And, behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the Lord my God, as the Lord spake unto David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build an house unto my name.

1 King 5 tells us that King Solomon asked King Hiram of Tyre for Cedar and Fir trees for the temple.  King Solomon used pure gold and all manner of precious stones for the temple of the Lord. He spared no expense when it came to the building of the temple. The length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits. And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house.

The whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold. And within the oracle he made two cherubims of olive tree, each ten cubits high. And five cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits. And the other cherub was ten cubits: both the cherubims were of one measure and one size. The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was it of the other cherub. And he set the cherubims within the inner house: and they stretched forth the wings of the cherubims, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house. And he overlaid the cherubims with gold. And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, within and without. And the floors of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without. And for the entering of the oracle he made doors of olive tree: the lintel and side posts were a fifth part of the wall.
The two doors also were of olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubims, and upon the palm trees. So also made he for the door of the temple posts of olive tree, a fourth part of the wall. And the two doors were of fir tree: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding. And he carved thereon cherubims and palm trees and open flowers: and covered them with gold fitted upon the carved work. And he built the inner court with three rows of hewed stone, and a row of cedar beams.

Today the people of Israel are wanted to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem.  They believe the original temple was on the temple mount. Jerusalem’s Temple Mount is the holiest site in the world for Jews and the third holiest for Muslims — a place where millions of people have prayed at.  So there are some that are trying to make a peace treaty so the temple can be rebuilt.   However some Bible Scholars are saying the original temple was in the city of David, on the outside of Jerusalem and not on the temple mount.  They believe the Temple Mount was instead a roman soldier fort. The Bible tells us how an antichrist will sit in the temple claiming he is God. One day, God will destroy this temple and will build a new temple in his city (Ezekiel 40-48).

Trusting in the Lord

I had a feeling yestered that I was going to need to trust in Jesus. We were at church and we were talking about trusting in God. Without the trust and faith in the Lord Jesus, we have nothing. Jesus should be your everything. He should be your every reason for living in this world. He gave you life, blessings, salvation, peace and one day eternal life. We should honor him by showing praises to him. We should show him honor by telling others that Jesus Christ saves! He is the answer to all our problems in this life.

Then today my daughter told me that she has been passing out with low blood sugar. I’m a nurse and I know how dangerous it is to have low blood sugar. She is expecting a child in a couple months too.  So the Lord might have been telling me to trust him  in yesterday.  Sometimes it is easy to tell others to trust in Jesus, but sometimes it is hard to do it ourselves when we face trials and tribulations. The older I have gotten and the more trials I have been through, I have learned the God is able!  He is in control and he can handle any problems. If you have trials and hardships you are going through, Jesus can help you! Trust in Jesus today and ask him to be your Lord and Savior. Don’t worry because Jesus is in control.  Nothing happens in this life without Jesus knowing about it. The Bible says he is in Heaven and sits on the right side of God. He maketh intercessions for us (Romans 8:34).

To fully trust in something or someone you must have complete faith that they or it can guide you safely into the correct or most secure place that you need to go.   As I have gotten a little older and since I have went through some trials in my life, I have learned how to rely on the Lord completely.  Without Jesus as your pilot in life, a person would make a complete mess of their life no matter how hard they try.  See I know how it feels not to have Jesus lead me entirely and it is not a place I ever want to return.  Through the dark times of your life is where you have to learn to trust in something; you have to learn to trust in Jesus completely or lose all hope.

Today everybody seems to be going on with their busy lives and neglect worshiping God.  We think we are self-sufficient, have everything we need in life, and have all the comforts of life.  We work full time jobs, have busy lives and continue on with our lives  until something happens which bring us to a dead stop.  Perhaps we come down with an illness or lose our jobs.  Perhaps our house burns down or we fall and break a bone. Then we begin to question “Why?”  We wonder, Why did this happen to me?  The answer is simple: sometimes it takes those unexpected trials and tribulations that bring us closer to God.  After something happens, we are forced to slow down and look to the Father.  Now we realize that we need God.  We are no longer self sufficient but human. Do Not Render Evil for Evil

Today we participated in a craft show for the holidays. As soon as we got to the location we noticed that other people were setting up their crafts in our spot. So we approached them in a calm manner asking them if they were sure they were in the right location. With a quick snap of the tongue they were very rude and upset that I would dare ask them anything. I showed them a map of where the vendors were suppose to be. Lets just say they were not happy that they had to move. I would have gladly took another place, but I needed to know where to put my things. I was calm, polite and tried to ask politely, but was snapped out by the other vendors. Finally after seeing the map they moved their items to the correct location.

The thing is that we should never try to be hostile in our response to others. As a Christian we need to watch our tongue. Deep down I just wanted to snap back and say, that I wasn’t the one who put my stuff in the wrong spot. Instead I held my tongue and said that I would move, but needed to know what location they were suppose to be at, so I would know where to take my things. I really don’t know how I could have responded without some kind of resentment from them. To show that there wasn’t any resentment on my part, I bought one of their items later in the day.

Sometimes it isn’t necessary what you say to people, sometimes people are just a little quick and hasty to lash out at others. Sometimes people may be having a bad day, not feeling well, or maybe they didn’t sleep good the night before. It doesn’t really matter why people react the way they do; it matters how we respond back to them.  We are suppose to be the example.  We are suppose to be the light to the world; just as Jesus was.

It is human nature for someone to want to strike back at someone when they are offended. I didn’t say it is the right thing to do, but MM900043730usually the  first thing a person wants to do is get even. No one likes to be mocked, ridiculed or hurt by someone else. One thing that a Christian must work on is self control. They should present themselves to others as a Christian and not as someone who is worldly.  Christians should not retaliate against others but have forgiveness. Lets look at examples in the Bible to show us how we should act.

  • Isaiah 53:7 says, “He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.”

The Day of the Lord Cometh

What if your house caught on fire and you seen all your possessions burning up in the flame?  What would you try to gather and save before the house burned up?  Would you just stand there in shock?  Would you try to look around and figure out why it happened? Would you look for anything left that you could possibly savage?  Would you look for those prized possessions that meant so much to you?

Now imagine that the earth was on fire and everything was burning up.  Jesus had gathered his people from the earth but some people remained that didn’t know the Lord Jesus.  They were all there hopeless, standing in shock as they watched the earth burn up; trying to figure out what happened to all their loved ones. 2 Peter 3:10 says, “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”  If you don’t know the Lord Jesus, now is the time of Salvation!   If you are a Christian, now is the time to warn your loved ones that Jesus is coming soon!

We know by the signs that Jesus is coming soon. It will happen quickly, you will not have time to repent after he comes. You must repent now and by faith, receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior. 2 Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 1 Corinthians 6: 9,10 says, “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”

Revelation 6:14-17-And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Behold Jesus Comes Quickly

Revelation 22:12 says: And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Time is drawing closer to the Lord’s return.  Are you ready to meet him?  Have you prepared for his coming?  Jesus says he comes quickly and his reward is with him.  He will reward his people with eternal life; but he will reward the wicked by casting them away.  Isaiah 40:3 says, Prepare ye the way of the Lord….

Isaiah 25:8 says: He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth for the Lord hath spoken it. Matthew 24:30,31 says: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

No one knows the day or the hour, but we can know it by the signs.  Jesus gave signs of his coming; in Matthew 24 he tells us those signs to look for.  Matthew 25:13 says:- Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.  Salvation is coming soon! Isaiah 62:11 says:Behold, the Lord hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  1 Corinthians 15:51-53-Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

Joel 2:1- Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand;

I urge you to come to Jesus Christ and ask him to be your Lord and Savior before it is too late. Behold today is the day, behold now is the time of Salvation. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (Romans 10:9).   Prepare to meet the Lord Jesus!  How do you prepare to meet Jesus and be saved?

  1.  Repent of your sins
  2.  Ask Jesus to forgive you
  3.  Turn from your sins and try to live for Jesus
