Honesty Is Worth It

It’s not always easy to do the right thing. We need to strive to be honest, have good morals and walk uprightly. Today when I was driving to the store, I went to park my car and bumped the car beside me in the parking lot. I got out of the car to see if I had any damage to my car or the other car. My car was good but I seen a long white scratch on the dark purple truck beside me. I thought, Oh, there’s no way I didn’t scratch his car, because it was the same spot I hit. I looked around to see if anyone was looking, trying to decide how to handle the situation. Truthfully, I wanted to leave and act like nothing happened! Then I thought to myself, I can’t leave, it’s not right. He was no where near his car, but I knew inside that I had to find the driver. There were plenty of other stores around, but knew he had to be close. I waited next to his car for him to come back. I called my husband and told him what happened. I wondered if I should call the police, leave a note or sit and wait. I thought, it could be hours before he returns. I don’t want to sit here all day. I don’t want to report this to my insurance. So what should I do. I just wanted to crank my car and leave, but I knew it wouldn’t be honest. Also I knew, God sees all. So I waited longer, deciding that I had to wait and tell the truth to the other driver. After about 20 minutes 2 guys come walking down the parking lot. They looked like they could get really angry with me. I was afraid, but I approached them asking if it was there truck that I hit. Yes why, they said. I scratched your car. How, they replied. I told them that my car hit theirs when I pulled up. They looked down and said, it’s okay, it’s cheap paint. I was a little confused. Why were they so polite. I told them, I was willing to pay them to get it fixed. No, it’s okay, don’t worry about it, they answered. I was shocked that they refused my money, and gave me a pass.

It amazes me, that God sometimes gives us a pass. He knows our weaknesses. He knows our thoughts, but he forgives us. He knew my heart, and knew I was trying to be honest and so he helped me today. So I know without a doubt that God helps those that live honestly, and Godly.

Do the right thing, be honest, and things will work out.

The Bible says: That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing. Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more, 1 Thessalonians 4.12

Jesus Cares for You

There are so many people in the world that are hurting. They may have experienced something that is tearing them up inside. They wonder if life will ever get better. They ask themselves, Does anyone care? I know because I’ve been there. Life isn’t always going to be a bed of roses. But, I know in time, things do get better.

Financial troubles get better. Loneliness getter better. Depression gets better. I know because I’ve been there. It doesn’t happen overnight. Jesus can help you because he has helped me.

The Bible says in 1 Peter 5 to: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

See Satan, the devil likes to bring you down. He will try to rob you of your joy. He loves to depress you, oppress you, and hurt you in any way possible. But Jesus can give you a life of joy, hope, peace and happiness. Jesus loves you. He cares about you

Hebrews 13:5,6, ….I will never leave you or forsake you. He said he would never leave or forsake you, but you have to rely on him. You have to seek him with your whole heart. Repent of your sins. Then call upon Jesus to be your Lord. He will hear and answer you.

Today is the Day of Salvation

As a nurse, I’ve had patients that were doctors, lawyers, teachers, meteorologist, a Senator, dentist, hospital administrator, convicts, drug addicts, etc… not once did I treat one person any better than the other. In God’s eyes all people were created in his image. Education, careers, different circumstances doesn’t put a human being above another. There is one thing God looks at. Whether you are covered under the blood of Jesus. Are you a Christian? Time is short. I have seen people die of all ages! Today is the day of Salvation! Repent and turn from your sins! No one is promised another day!

This last few years have been the toughest to get through. I’ve had Covid 3 times. Had a death in the family. Experienced many trials and tribulations, but God has been with me every step of the way. I was saved when I was 15 years old. He had shown me through those trials and tribulations that he has always been by my side. I know I have nothing to fear; no trial, burden, financial trouble, health condition, will separate me from the love of God. Satan has tried to discourage, oppress, depress me, but Jesus has carried me through the fires of life. See he loves me, and he loves each and everyone. He cares for us. 1 Peter 5:7, says, Casting all your cares upon him, for he cares for you. There is nothing that God cannot handle, nothing that God cannot bring you through. He is always over you. He knows when we are scared, depressed, and he will take care of us. Not on our timing, but his.

Today is the day to be saved. Today is the day to get your life in order. God loves you.

Forgive/Focus on Self Improvement

This week has been full of trials in my life. It’s hard to explain but all I can say is that my heart has been broken. I’ve been let down by a beloved family member. I have thought long and hard, I want to forgive and focus on my own unrighteousness and not on someone else’s. What can I do to be a better person, a better Christian. In this post, I want to help others who are going through something similar. Let’s focus on improving our own life and heart.

  1. Focus on improving ourself and not how we’ve been wronged. Let the hurt go, forgive others and ourselves.
  2. Show love despite the circumstances. Don’t let hate or anger rise up in you.
  3. Let God fight the battle, lean on him. Don’t retaliate! Trust me it is hard not to strike back.
  4. Ask forgiveness, especially to improve a relationship. Be the bigger person. Even if you feel like you haven’t done anything wrong.
  5. Watch what we say. People get offended easy.
  6. Don’t blame others! Consider our own actions. Don’t let bitterness arise in you.
  7. Don’t let our prayers be hindered.
  8. Pray, ask God for help! Ask God to help you improve your life, to guide you in all things.
  9. Realize God is in control. Sit back and wait on the Lord. Quit trying to fix the problem.
  10. God works in his timing not ours.
  11. Practice the fruits of the spirit!

  1. Love
  2. Joy
  3. Peace
  4. Long-suffering
  5. Gentleness
  6. Faith
  7. Meekness
  8. Temperance…self control

The Lord is My Shepherd

The Lord is My Shepherd because he leadeth me in my life through trials. He protects me from harm. He shields me from danger. He clothes me and feeds me. He guides me in the correct path. He shows love to me. He provides shelter from the storms of my life. When I go astray, he brings me back to the fold.

Psalm 23-The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. – Psalm 23:1-6

Have You Left Jesus

If you haven’t studied the Bible like you use to. If you haven’t attended church regularly. If you haven’t prayed like you use to, than you are backsliding. Do you feel close to God?

Today I ran across this post, “Have You Left Jesus”. To some degree, yes. I haven’t read my Bible, prayed, worshipped like I should have. I’ve tried but felt like a dark cloud overshadowing me.

See over the last couple of years, I have been struggling with my Christian walk with the Lord. I have been dealing with grief and Depression. Some of it has been due to losing a close family member. I felt grieved, depressed, and oppressed. See Satan wants us depressed, oppressed, burdened, weighed down. He wants to keep a dark cloud over us so we won’t do God’s will. We must keep fighting. We must fight for our Christian walk. We are in a battle! With God, we can overcome and win the battle!

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: – Ephesians 6:11-17.

Jesus said he would never leave us or forsake us ( Hebrews 13:5). Pray, pray often and let the Lord guide you in your life.

Have Integrity

Integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.

Integrity should guide what we do or say in this life. Be honest, tell the truth. Show respect to authority and others you come into contact with. Be trustworthy, reliable and faithful to others including employers. Have some responsibility to others. Keep your promises, keep commitments made.

Strive to be a servant of God. Be willing to help others; many have needs that we can assist them with. Do good even when noone is watching. Anything you do, do it for the Lord. Do your best without grudging. Be thankful!

Joseph was a man of God that showed great integrity. Genesis 37 tells us that even though Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers, he had compassion for them. Later on Pharaoh made him ruler over the land of Egypt. During the famine, Joseph could have thrown his brothers in jail, but he took care of them and his father (Genesis 47:11,12).

Psalm 25:21- Integrity comes from knowledge and wisdom. Psalm 25:21-Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee. Job had integrity despitewhat he list and went through- Let me be weighed in an even balance that God may know mine integrity (Job 31:6).

God knows your integrity and will reward you for having it. He rewarded Joseph and Job. Let the Holy Spirit always guide you in whatever you do. Pray each day that God would lead you and guide in your life.

Changes Are Not Always Good

As I sit here waiting for my food order at my favorite Chinese restaurant I ponder what life holds. I’ve reached my 50’s now and wander where time has gone. I look around and see all the young people, that are now adults, that I watched when they were kids. I see them having their own families and children and living productive lives.

Many people that had an impact on my life when I was growing up, including family members are now deceased. Several aunts and uncles, my brother in law, even people I went to school with are no longer with us. It saddens me but also gives me a different perspective on life.

Many changes are happening around me. Signs of the Lords return are happening.  Israeli Jews have found a red heifer that can be sacrificed in order to cleanse the new temple. Plans are underway for the rebuilding of the temple.  They believe the temple will usher in the return of the messiah. They don’t believe that Jesus was God’s son.

This temple is not a good thing to the world. It will be the beginning of the tribulation period when the antichrist begins his short reign on this earth. To the Christian people,  it will mean that Jesus Christ will gather his people together in Heaven to wait out the terrible tribulation period that will take place on this earth.

Life is short! We should never take anything or anyone for granted. Now we must focus our attention on spreading the gospel while we still can. We don’t know what the future will bring on this earth.  We just have to trust in Jesus to carry us through what is coming. I believe he will help us, because we are his people!

We are waiting for the Lord to rapture the church out of this world. The rapture should take place very soon. All we have to do is look around. So many things happening in this world that are ungodly.

God helps us Through our Fears

It is so easy to fear death when you think you have cancer or some other illness that usually doesn’t have a good outcome.  As a nurse, I’ve taken care of people who were dying or diagnosed with a life changing prognosis.  It was heartbreaking, but some actually inspired me because they didn’t have any fear. They were ready to face whatever God had in store for them, whether death or devine healing. I’ve sat there trying to encourage them with comforting words, but they lift me up instead with their faith. Now I stand and wait for results that might change my life. Test will soon reveal whether I have thyroid cancer and/or something else. My doctor sent me for an ultrasound and it showed nodules on my thyroid, which could be cancerous. When I was told I would have to go for a biopsy, I could barely sleep. Its hard to focus on anything else, my mind keeps going back to thoughts of my death. I know it sounds morbid but I’m sure others feel the same way when they find out terrible news about their health.

You start to analyze your life, what you did in your past. Could I have made better choices. Life is a vapor. Cherish it!   I wish I could go back and undo some things I did. I wish I could have lived a better life as a Christian. I miss the times when my kids were little.  We would go shopping together,  go on vacations, have holidays together.  Time is special, I miss those precious moments. My husband,  Chris and I were talking about the struggles we’ve faced together. We’ve been married for 30 years. We’ve had good times,  bad times,  and times to remember.  Life wouldn’t be the same without each other. I know I love him more today than I did when we first got together.  He has been someone I can rely on, someone that has helped me in my darkest hours of my life. But, Chris can’t always be with me. There is one that has always been there with me. Jesus has comforted me when noone else could. He was there when I went in for surgery. He was there when I was born, and he will be there when I pass from this life. Jesus knows everything about me. He knows my thoughts,  my secrets,  my fears. He has given me the peace to go on in my life. He’s forgiven me for my sins. Loved me when I was unlovable.  He has strengthened me when I was weak. Healed me when I was sick. And listened to me when I needed a friend. He said he will never leave me or forsake me. Friends come and go. Family can turn their back on you, but Jesus will never hurt you.

If you dont know Jesus,  you dont know true peace or love. He can give you a happiness that you have never known. He is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Ask Jesus into your heart and life. He
